British Roast Dinner Week (sponsored by Colman’s and supported by Knorr) has issued a final call for pubs to enter the Best British Roast Dinner competition – which comes with a grand prize of £10,000 of PR support for the national winner.

This year, the competition will also crown regional champions for South England, North England, Midlands, Wales and Scotland – giving £2,500 of PR support for each to help put their roasts on the map.

To be in with a chance of winning, all pubs need to do is submit their entry online at www.britishroastdinnerweek.co.uk by September 20.

An expert judging panel led by renowned food critic Charles Campion will select the regional winners, which will be announced on September 26 to mark the start of British Roast Dinner Week.

Then a team of mystery diners will then scour the country before deciding which regional winner cuts the mustard to take the prestigious title of Best British Roast Dinner 2016. The national winner will be announced on October 2, bringing to a dramatic close what promises to be the biggest British Roast Dinner Week yet.

Chris Brown, channel trade marketing manager at Unilever Food Solutions, said: “After winning the title last year, The Larwood & Voce pub in West Bridgeford, Nottingham, has enjoyed waiting lists up to four weeks long. And with five regional winners being announced in addition to the national winner – there’s even more chance for pubs to raise their profile and become famous for their roast. So hurry and get those entries in before it’s too late.”

Entering is quick, free and simple. Pubs just need to enter their details and say why their roast is the best. Plus, they’ll even get a free sample of gravy granules just for entering. And there’s a new improved British Roast Dinner Week point of sale kit available too.
